Our Beginning.....

The rich heritage of our church dates back to May 28, 1978 when some 78 people were seeking God for His direction with much prayer and fasting. The first building was purchased and located at 250 Chester Levee Road. Rev. W.A. Singleton was the first spiritual leader for this congregation.

In 1979, Rev. Hulon Myre was elected as the first Pastor. Under his leadership, the church began to experience great growth while reaching a record attendance of 181 in just two years time. Because of the revival that took place, there was a need for a new place to call home. The congregation purchased a building on 402 E. Layfayette in downtown Jackson and began holding services on May 11, 1980.

In 1985, Rev. Ron Brown was elected to serve as the Pastor of the Lighthouse. Under his leadership, the church continued to grow and see many souls saved creating a great atmosphere of worship and revival in the city of Jackson. In 1991, land was purchased at 333 Old Humboldt Road. There, God would begin to unfold His plans for the church. A beautiful Sanctuary and an Activity Center were constructed. God indeed, blessed the members of this church.

In 2006, Rev. Donald Lance was elected as our Pastor. Under his leadership, this church has seen numerous miracles and great growth. In 2008, an EF4 Tornado came through Jackson and took the building at 333 Old Humboldt Road. Since the loss of our building, we have been blessed with a beautiful 21,000 square foot building that sits on 31.5 acres located at 1435 Old Humboldt Road. We are blessed beyond measure with a location designed for growth and the vision of Pastor Lance. We are confident that God’s blessings and His anointing is resting upon this church and our congregation. The combination of God's Blessings, faithful members and Godly leadership has propelled us to a place of end time revival.
